The Hebraic View of God’s Son
In this class Ross begins to examine the concept of the Son of God from a Hebraic perspective.
Beginning in the gospel of John, Ross compares the ideas and concepts spoken by Yeshua to the ancient charge given to Israel.
From the introduction, Ross goes back to the Hebrew Bible to explore the idea of the “Son of God” from its original and thoroughly Hebraic perspective. He covers the following texts in this class:
Exodus 4:21-23
Jeremiah 31:15-21
Hosea 1:10
Hosea 11:1-12
Deuteronomy 32:5-6, 18-19
Deuteronomy 14:1-2
Jeremiah 3:19-20
Isaiah 56
Malachi 2:10
He also examines the idea of the King of Israel and how this relates to the son of God.
2 Samuel 7:4ff
Psalm 2
Psalm 89:27-28
In summary, Ross shows that those who do the will of God, whether Israel or one who joins the covenants and people of God can be a “child of God”.
Other passages relevant to this study are:
Romans 8:12-17
Matthew 5:43-48
Matthew 5:9
Luke 6:32-36
