Roots of Faith 11 Apr 2008 | : ARBA4, ROF Sunday Shul, Roots of Faith
In this class, Ross explores all the passages from the Torah related to the Hebrew idea of “Anointing”. Ross shows that objects and Priests are the “Anointed Ones” mentioned in the Torah.
Beginning in John 1:35-51, Yeshua makes one of the three references to his role in the Torah. What is it that he refers to? And what is the significance to this claim.
Ross answers this question and uses it to set the stage for a full class of every instance of the word “anointed” in the Torah.
You will not want to miss this class. It is foundational for an understanding of this Hebrew concept.

In this week’s lesson, Ross begins his series on “The Messiah - Expectations and Speculations”. Ross seeks to recover a biblical and Hebraic view of the Messiah.
The goal and objective of this series is to show:
The orgin of the term and examples of the ancient practice of anointing (i.e., Priest, King and Prophet). We will cover other titles used for various messianic figures, and fully explore these in context. One of the things that we will do over the next few weeks, is begin to see the complexity of this subject.
Will there be one messiah or two? What can we learn from the DSS, Jewish literature, etc? Who else was called messiah?
What about the messianic claims of Yeshua (Jesus of Nazareth)?
