Special Four Part Series on Shavuot – The Festival of Weeks
My wife Debbie and I, Joseph Good, have produced four one hour programs on the Festival of Shavuot. These programs I am especially pleased with as Debbie adds an element that makes the festival come alive. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did in filming each session. Each hour is presented in half hour segments and will be posted on Arba4 on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays each week leading up to Shavuot. We pray that they will enhance your observance of the festival.
Program One – The Counting of the Omer – Part A
This program begins our series and builds the bridge from Passover to Shavuot. In the First Century C.E. the Day of the Waving of the Barley was hotly contested between the Sadducees and Pharisees. There is nothing new under the sun. The same controversy continues to this day and has become a frying pan issue in the non-Jewish Torah World. Debbie poses some interesting questions. The program also ties the counting of the Omer into the resurrection of the dead. Lastly, we go over how to count the days of the Omer and suggestions as to what you might do with your children.

In this week’s class, Ross teaches on the subject of Biblical Holiness. Covering material from two Torah Readings Acharey Mot and Kedoshim (Leviticus 16 through 20), Ross makes the point that true holiness is something that is achievable here and now…on earth. Not only is holiness something that can be achieved on earth, it is a demand placed upon man by Yehovah. A key part of realizing holiness on earth is understanding and applying the principles laid out in this section of God’s Torah. Among other things, we need to learn to love ourself, love our neighbor, love the stranger and then and only then, love Yehovah our God with all our heart and soul.
Once we learn to love, we are able to express holiness in our world. You will not want to miss this class.

In this set of three programs I will be working on how the various pericope (paragraphs or sections) of Mark connect with the Torah Seder. I also begin to look at how the oral Torah connects with the Torah Seder and the book of Mark, specifically Yeshua.

In this week’s class Ross explores the connection between Holy Living and a Biblical Diet. Does God care what we eat? Is the Kingdom of God really about food and drink? Should Christians eat whatever is placed before them? Have the dietary laws been done away with?
Where did the diet first get questioned and who was it that questioned God’s dietary rules? You will not want to miss this class.
