During a recent visit to Waco, TX I saw something spiritually during one of his lectures. I know, it’s strange but I can still be inspired when Joe teaches! Anyway, I could not wait for him to finish his first lecture so that I could share with him something that I felt was a revelation from Hashem. While Joe agreed with me that my ‘vision’ was unique and spiritual, we were unsure of when or where to disclose this revelation. Then it occurred to us – numbers and the stages of the Holy Temple were a very important part of the revelation. What better time to reveal our new discovery than the Chanukah season. Therefore, we have recorded several programs – eight total – for each of the nights of Chanukah. I need to warn you that no latkes will be fried nor dreidles spun during the broadcasts. Nor will we spend much time talking about the Maccabbean revolt. Instead, each 30-minute segment will concentrate on more spiritual insights regarding the Temple and its various stages. I hope you will join us in watching these programs. The first night will serve as an introduction and reveal the main point. Thereafter, it will be easy to see the direction the programs take. Join us, won’t you.

Hatikva Shavuot Special – Observance of Shavuot pt B

Posted by The Gates on 18 May 2010 | Tagged as: Hatikva, Hatikva Specials

Program Four – Observance of Shavuot

The concluding program adds to everything already discussed as to how to observe Shavuot. The reading of Ruth and the liturgical poem Akdamut as well as other special prayers give insight as to how you might develop your own observance. The ancient Temple ceremonies are shown which brings this often neglected festival to a consciousness that it deserves. The festival is the end of Passover but the true beginning of the Fall Festivals. The conclusion of the series culminates with bringing all the many facets of Shavuot: prophecy, liturgy, agricultural, historical and healing together.

Program Three – The Agricultural Aspects of Shavuot part B

Episode three gets into the agricultural elements of this outstanding festival. We discuss the Sheva Minim, the Seven Species, and how there firstfruits were offered at Shavuot. We talk of things you might want to incorporate into your garden at home and use during the festival. This has been a major part of our own observance. One of the most interesting discussions deals with the tithe and the terumah offering and how they relate to Shavuot. You may want to try some of the ideas Debbie brings to the table in your own home observance.

Hatikva Shavuot Special – Mount Sinai pt B

Program Two – Shavuot and Mount Sinai

The second episode looks at the historical aspect of Shavuot. It was the first Shavuot when Hashem gave the written Torah to Israel. Forever known as Matan Torah – the Gift of the Torah, when the Torah was given in the wilderness to all nations, Shavuot commemorates the conclusion of the First or Egyptian Redemption. Debbie shows some neat things you can do in your home to bring this important aspect to your Shavuot experience.
