In this week’s class, Ross covers the subject of the Priestly Blessing. These fifteen Hebrew words, recorded in the fourth book of the Torah, in Torah reading Naso contain much that we should know. Ross begins the study with a passage from II Chronicles, which conveys that Israel has been without the True God, a teaching priest and Torah for far too long. The teaching seeks to show that Joseph is currently experiencing the hiding of the face. The priestly blessing speaks of the shining of the face. By carefully studying the subject of blessing in general and the words contained in the priestly blessing specifically, Ross points out that the word for blessing in Hebrew is associated with the word for “knee.” Could it be that divine blessing and perhaps even the restoration of Joseph is connected to prayer? You will not want to miss this class.

In this week’s class, Ross returns to the regular cycle of Torah and Prophet readings after completing his seven-part series on the Messiah. We begin our journey through the book of Numbers today and Ross focuses on the Prophet reading, which comes from the prophet Hosea. He explores a common misunderstanding, especially among Christians – namely, the identity of the group referred to as “not my people.” Who is this group? Are they Gentiles?
Does the bible suggest that Israel failed to attain righteousness because they attempted to do so through the “law?” And does it further suggest that because Israel failed to attain righteousness through the law that the Gentiles were able to attain it simply by faith?
Ross takes us back to the original prophecies concerning “not my people” and looks at the subject in context. He works through these ancient prophecies and in the process, clarifies some long misunderstood points from Scripture. You will not want to miss this teaching.

This Torah Focus looks at Mordechai (Mark) Chapter 5 :35-43 where after healing the woman with the “issue of blood” Yeshua goes to the house of the Rosh HaKeneset and heals the young girl and cites the phrase “Talita Cumi”
What does this phrase mean and what difficulties does Yeshua face in this scenario?
Fascinating and insightful class.

In this week’s teaching Ross shares a message of hope. He speaks from personal experience about how our steps are guided when we trust in YHVH with all of our heart and do not lean to our own understanding. Using a passage from the Bible’s book of Proverbs, Ross tells several stories that will encourage the listeners. He looks back on the past 20 years of his journey and shows what seems to be the work of an Unseen Hand. His stories lead up to his recent invitation to the Governor’s mansion where he met many distinguished leaders, politicians, ministers and rabbis who were all gathered together to honor Israel. You will not want to miss this special session. The dialogue is also attached and features Ross’ Hebrew teacher, Johnny Powell.

Have you ever heard the old adage, cleanliness is next to Godliness? While these exact words do not appear in the Biblical text, Glenn Chatterton shares a message in this class that suggests that the idea is present throughout the texts. He begins by covering some of the Torah’s principles contained within Torah readings Tazria and Metzora on the distinction between clean and unclean and builds a case that the old saying may find support in Scripture. From texts that speak of unclean and clean, Glenn demonstrates that the cleanliness described in the Bible goes beyond ritual defilement. You will not want to miss this teaching on cleanliness is next to Godliness.

In this exciting and informative class Ross shares a message from the Hebrew Scriptures that is in keeping with the theme for this “resurrection” weekend. Christians the world over will be hearing a message about a resurrection of Jesus and Jews will be hearing of another resurrection. Ross shares that if one looks carefully into the Hebrew Scriptures a message emerges that many have not seen before. Do the Hebrew Scriptures speak of the death, burial and resurrection of God’s son? And who is this suffering son? You will not want to miss this teaching.

We explored many things for the class this week. The mystery of the ashes of the red heifer and purification. Cedar, Hyssop, Crimson and the Fig tree, how they are connected with the red heifer? Adam and Chava why did they cover themselves and why with fig leaves? Is someone sinful because they become ritually impure? Fire and water, how do these two elements effect purification? These questions and many more were answered in Torah Focus class.

In his third class of the Messiah series, Ross begins to focus on the subject of the king. In his second class, Ross pointed out that the person called messiah, or the anointed one in the Torah, was exclusively used of the priests – Aaron and his sons, but in class 3 Ross reveals that there is a clear shift. From the first mention of the word mashach in Judges chapter 9, our emphasis is directed to the king. Ross challenges his listeners to find forms of the word anoint associated with priests outside of the Torah. In this class Ross explores this new focus on the king. He covers Saul, Israel’s first messiah king. Was Israel ever intended to have a king? The Torah after all contains the instruction for the king. What was the mission of Israel’s first messiah king? And what does this do in so far as shedding light on our understanding of the subject at hand? He closes his third class in the series with the introduction to the next messiah king, the sweet Psalmist of Israel. David, are you the one or should we look for another? You will also find the audio file for the dialogue session in this post.
Next week we will investigate what the bible says of messiah in regards to David and his sons. You will not want to miss a single class.

In this second class on the subject of messiah, Ross explores the meaning of the word by covering the subject of messiah from the Torah. He points out that the root word occurs some 60 times in the Teaching of Moses. What can we learn from the Torah about “messiah?” Many people assume that certain passages speak of the messiah in the Torah, but Ross concentrates on the actual uses of the word. He shows that objects are anointed and are thereby properly and from a biblical perspective, messiahs, or anointed things. Beginning with the first mention of messiah in the Torah, he works through what the Torah has to say about the topic. He points out that in terms of people called or referred to as Messiahs, the Torah ONLY mentions the priests. He closes the lesson by sharing the Bible’s first parable – a parable that mentions messiah. You will not want to miss a single class on this important subject.

Shabbat Zachor 5773 D’varim (Deut.) 24:19 – 25:19; Ashlamatah: I Samuel 15:1-34; Psalm 2:1-12;
N.C.: Rev. 13:11 – 14:12; 15:2-4
We opened class with talking about points from the study that fired our imagination. These are some of the things we talked about in class.
Boaz was 80 years old and Ruth 40 when they married. They had only one night together before he died and yet they produced the lineage of King David and Yeshua. The lineage of Yeshua was from a Moabitess converting to Judaism and a Judge of Israel. The marriage to Boaz earned Ruth the respect and notoriety she needed in the culture after Boaz died.
We then began to discuss the depth of So’od and how to interpret So’od. We opened to the Revelation of Messiah (the book of Revelation) and began to explicate the mystery of this “Revelation.” We compared the reception of the “Revelation” to Har Sinai showing the chain of transmission.
So’od—Symbolic—kibal
We learned a great deal about how to interpret So’od and how to delve deeper into the book of Revelation by understanding So’od hermeneutics.
